Argentina driving inclusion across football

Argentina driving inclusion across football

  • 29 October 2022

Para Football is pleased to welcome our first member organisation from the Americas. Argentina will inspire countries across the region for most of whom football is their national game, to provide opportunities also for persons with disabilities.

Argentine Foundation of Inclusion and Sport (FAID)

Para Sport plays an important role in providing meaningful physical activity. The Argentine Foundation of Inclusion and Sport will strive to ensure that people with disabilities reach their full potential, together with sports, education and health.

Founded in June 2022, our structure is based on generating and participating in exciting actions in collaboration with key partners to develop opportunities and transform them into a more inclusive society.

The Argentine Foundation for Inclusion and Sport will work closely with the different provinces of Argentina, countries in the Americas and the World to help improve the lives of people with disabilities.

Sam Turner from Para Football shared:

"Argentina are not just a country passionate about disability inclusion within their own programmes, but a nation who seek to inspire real change across the Americas.  Providing opportunities across the breadth of Para Football will empower more persons with disabilities to join their peers on the field of play. Young players can ofcourse aspire to be the next Diego Maradonna or Lionel Messi, but through Para Football young players can dream to be the next Molina in CP Football or Lencina of Blind Football."

FAID is a role model for Para Sport in the Americas, showcasing and sharing its experience and great work to support countries around the world. Currently our Foundation is working with the Club Estudiantes de La Plata, the Andar Football Club Foundation, the Inclusive Football League and other organizations and provinces of our country, through our mission, vision and values with the aim of sharing ideas, being sensitive to the circumstances faced by each national and international Federation, to support and work together.

The president of FAID, with a successful career as a Paralympic athlete, Mr Alejandro Maldonado, shares FAID's support for Para Football.

“We are delighted to be members of the Para Football Foundation and to be able to inspire, support and empower people with and without disabilities to participate and reach their full potential. The success of our work depends on solid alliances with similar organizations that share our vision and mission of facilitating the growth of sport for people with disabilities, seeking to trace a path towards equal opportunities, promoting the population's access to the practice of sport base and physical activity”.

"We intend to have a different vision of life through Parasport. We hope to have your support. Today is the day, this is the moment to make a difference."
