Para Football Mourns the Passing of Charmaine Hooper

9 February 2026: Para Football Foundation is deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Charmaine Hooper, Chief Executive Officer of World Abilitysport, who passed away on Friday, 6 February 2026, at the age of 63.

Charmaine was a powerhouse of the Paralympic Movement. As CEO of World Abilitysport - a member of Para Football’s Steering Board - she demonstrated unwavering dedication to Para sport and tireless advocacy for athletes with physical impairments, leaving an indelible mark on the global sport community.

The world has lost a truly great person, but it has gained so much from Charmaine’s extraordinary contribution to Para sport. Her impact will be felt for generations to come.”
